January Open House: Olmsted in Chicago

  • Hyde Park Historical Society 5529 S Lake Park Ave Chicago, IL, 60637 United States (map)

The Hyde Park Historical Society is excited to announce an Open House on Sunday, January 22 from 2-4pm at the Society’s cable car building on 5529 South Lake Park Avenue.  This event will reprise the Olmsted 200 celebration, a collaboration by the Washington Park Camera Club, Julia Bachrach and the Hyde Park Historical Society, funded by the Terra Foundation for American Art as part of Art Design Chicago.

Come and meet the photographers who created South Park Then and Now – a photographic tribute to Jackson Park, Midway Plaisance Park, and Washington Park – and view some of their photographs.  Hear from the participants about all of the events and activities that made up the Olmsted 200 celebration in Chicago.

Discussion will begin at 3pm.

Space is limited in the HPHS cable car building and social distancing is not possible. Masks are optional.
